Christmas at Union Station

I went to DC this weekend to celebrate the annual Christmas Extravaganza with Georgetown friends. Our bus got rerouted and when we arrived I had the chance to check out Christmas at Union Station.

I (Heart) NYC

So I took a bit of a hiatus: I graduated from ICP and took a vacation to Nova Scotia, Canada. Now I'm back on track although my camera is broken which makes being a photographer a bit more challenging. If anyone out there has $3,300 to spare I'm dying to buy the Canon 5D Mark II. You know, just FYI.

OK! So a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge is on every New Yorker's bucket list and a nice summer day is the perfect time to make the trek. Here are a couple of images I've always wanted to have hanging on my walls.

this little piggie went to market...

When I moved to NYC, I had to figure out how to fit all of my stuff into a teensy, tiny little living space. This was my solution for where I fit into all of the clutter. The first two images will be shown at my first group show at ICP, opening Friday June 24, 2011 6pm-9pm. Come check it out!

More moves I could never do...

I can't help but state the obvious: dancers are amazing. They can move around in ways I couldn't even imagine doing myself! Big thanks to Sam for helping me continue my project on body and movement.

Blue Steel

I worked with Anaish a few weeks ago for my fashion portfolio. She asked me: "Is there more to life other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking."  ;) To all my (three total) blog followers, apologies for taking so long between posts! xoxo

keep moving

This is an ongoing project about the body. An exploration of both movement as well as the idea of the body as abstract. There were many great images so here are just a select few. A big shout out to Alexis - you were an amazing model, thank you!

Memory

This is a project about memory - the idea that memories are as unique as each of us. Memories seem clear but often have been broken into pieces and are rough around the edges. How the pieces of memory fit together is ever-changing.

"The difference between false memories and true ones - it is always the false ones that look the most real, the most brilliant." ~Salvador Dali

Color in the Dark

I started a color darkroom class a few weeks ago. The process is so light-sensitive, you have to expose your paper in complete darkness. So I spend 3 hours of classtime a week in a pitch black room, walking around with my arms out in front of me, bumping into walls and laughing at how funny I must look. As much as I thought I would hate this whole process - particularly fearing that my claustrophobia would kick in and cause major panic attacks - I've actually found the experience quite peaceful and I love the final prints that I've been able to make. Here are some photographs from my scanned color film - a snowy 2am adventure a few weeks ago, winter in NYC, and a few apartment shots.
